We are talking about the performance of the Dream Edition: such an electric car is capable of driving 836 km without recharging (the calculation was carried out according to the EPA cycle used in the USA<\/a>).<\/p>\n

The start of the American startup<\/a> Lucid Motors was laid in 2007: then the company was still called Atieva. Initially, she created developments with electric power plants based on the Mercedes-Benz Vito model. The current name, Lucid, was chosen in 2016 ahead of the debut of the Air sedan prototype. It was assumed that the production of an electric “four-door” would begin in 2018 at a plant in Casa Grande (Arizona), but the launch of the series was postponed several times, including due to the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n

Production of the Lucid Air has now started, with the first customers receiving their vehicles later this year. The novelty promises to compete with the Tesla Model S in the domestic market. Note that sales of this model increased during the “covid” 2020: dealers sold 17,500 copies, which is 24% more than a year earlier. Peak year for the sedan was 2016, when customers bought 29,421 units.<\/p>\n

Now it became known that Lucid Air was ahead of the Tesla Model S in one of the most important characteristics for electric cars – in terms of range. So, according to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the maximum power reserve of the “four-door” Lucid is 836 km (this figure is the flagship version of the Dream Edition). For comparison, the Tesla Model S Long Range can travel 668 km without recharging.<\/p>\n

Note that the maximum power reserve is fixed for the top-end Air version on 19-inch wheels. If we are talking about the version on 21-inch rollers, then its power reserve is 774 km. The output of the electric power plant of the car in the Dream Edition version is 933 hp.<\/p>\n

Also in the lineup there is a high-performance version of the Lucid Air Dream Edition Performance: it has a power of 1111 hp. Such an “electric sedan” with 19-inch wheels is capable of driving 758 km without recharging, and 725 km with a 21-inch set. From standstill to almost “hundreds” (up to 97 km \/ h), this version can accelerate in 2.5 seconds.<\/p>\n

A simpler version – Lucid Air Grand Touring – received an electric “stuffing”, the return of which is 800 hp. This option can travel up to 830 km on 19-inch wheels and 754 km on 21-inch wheels. The model is equipped with a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 113 kWh.<\/p>\n

In the US, the price of Lucid Air range<\/a>s from $77,400 to $169,000, which is equivalent to about 5.6 million to 12.3 million conventional units at the current exchange rate (depending on the execution chosen by the client).
