The unique hypercar<\/a> McLaren Senna, named after the legendary Brazilian race car driver Ayrton Senna, is officially presented. New to the Ultimate Series from McLaren, the 800-horsepower Senna sports car<\/a> has been announced by the manufacturer as the most ready production car for the track with the legalization of movement on ordinary public roads. In our review of the McLaren Senna 2018-2019 – photos and videos, price and equipment, technical specifications of the car with the spirit of Ayrton Senna da Silva. The world premiere of the new McLaren Senna is scheduled for spring 2018 at the Geneva International Motor Show. The production of the hyper-car, unique in every respect, will start in the 3rd quarter of 2018 at the McLaren Production Center in England. McLaren Automotive's designers and engineers faced several challenges in creating the unique Ultimate Series hypercar. The car must be, on the one hand, light, with excellent body aerodynamics, a powerful engine and filigree suspension settings, and on the other hand, attractive in appearance with the most comfortable interior possible for use in everyday use (with an eye to the cost, it is hard to imagine that the owners will drive such a car for shopping). Looking ahead, we note that the developers coped with the task<\/a>s set perfectly.<\/p>\n

The curb weight of the McLaren Senna body is only 1198 kg!!! The car is almost entirely made of carbon fibre: chassis Monocage III, monocoque passenger cabin for two, all body panels with the lowest possible weight. And, of course, aerodynamic elements (diffusers, splitters, air intakes, air ducts, deflectors, linings, an active hydraulically driven rear wing of majestic size). Also available are carbon-ceramic brake discs.<\/p>\n

It is difficult to find words to describe the appearance of the new British supercar. And are they needed, when you can use the photos and videos posted in the review to consider the novelty from all sides. We just want to note that the McLaren Senna looks like an alien… no, not from the future, but from the world<\/a> of car racing. And it's not surprising, because in the process of preparing the model for mass production, the prototypes of the car literally lived in a wind tunnel. Such a number of aerodynamic elements, as on the body of a sports car<\/a> named after Ayrton Senna, there is, perhaps, no other mass-produced car. Perhaps only the Aston Martin Valkyrie, Pagani Huayra Roadster and Pagani Zonda HP Barchetta can compete in terms of body aerodynamics with the new McLaren hypercar.<\/p>\n

Bucket seats for the driver and passenger are made of carbon fiber on an individual order, with an eye to the anthropometric features of the bodies of people who are going to ride in the car. It is difficult to call such chairs comfortable, but the seats are ideal for a sports car. There is no trunk in the traditional concept, but there are niches behind the backs of the seats that can take a pair of racing helmets and overalls.<\/p>\n

The interior is design<\/a>ed in a minimalist style, but does not look spartan, and at the same time it will please with a mass of advanced equipment, as well as trimming the seats, the upper part of the front panel and door cards in genuine leather or Alcantara. The rest is dominated by carbon fiber, the amount of which just rolls over. All visible and invisible parts in the cabin are made of carbon fiber: doors, steering wheel, front panel and central tunnel, seats and even a ceiling unit, on which the light and power window control buttons, engine start \/ stop button, ventilation control, central locking and handle are displayed with the magic inscription Race (lowers the suspension, puts all components and assemblies in racing mode).<\/p>\n

By default, the new British sports car McLaren Senna is equipped with a McLaren Folding Driver Display (high-resolution digital instrument panel with a high-resolution color screen), a compact carbon-fiber steering wheel with a leather-trimmed rim and a complete absence of buttons, an infotainment complex with a color touch screen on front panel, climate control, rearview camera, power windows (lower side windows lower), front and rear parking sensors, sports rims with a central hub nut, shod in Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo R low-profile rubber, LED headlights headlight, LED strips for daytime running lights and taillights.<\/p>\n

\nThe new supercar<\/a> is equipped with a Codenamed M840TR gasoline engine, a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 (800 hp 800 Nm), installed within the base of the car. Traction is transmitted to the rear wheels using a 7-speed robotic gearbox with two clutch discs. The gearbox has a manual control mode, using paddle shifters made of carbon fiber.
\nThere is also an Active Dynamics system that allows you to change the characteristics of the engine, gearbox and suspension with three prescribed modes Comfort, Sport and Track. RaceActive Chassis Control II hydraulic suspension with active control and adaptive dampers (all dampers are interconnected by hydraulic lines equipped with switchable K-damper valves). Double wishbone suspension front and rear, carbon-ceramic brake discs, exhaust system with exhaust pipe<\/a>s on the engine compartment lid, made of inconel and titanium.<\/p>\n

The manufacturer has not yet disclosed the dynamic and speed characteristics of the car. But it is safe to say that the numbers will delight the hearts of fans of the brand, especially with an eye on the 800-horsepower engine and the curb weight of the body of 1198 kg (almost 668 horsepower per 1 ton). At the same time, we are more likely to have a sports car for dominating closed tracks than a thunderstorm of autobahns. Painfully expensive and exclusive car McLaren Senna.<\/p>\n
