A few months left before the presentation of the updated Ford Focus: new photo
Probably, the presentation of the “refreshed” Focus will take place at the end of this year, and the model will enter the European market in the spring of 2022.
The American brand Ford is gradually reducing its line of “passenger cars”, switching to the SUV segment: the process has affected all markets of the brand's presence to varying degrees. Despite this, for example, Focus has no plans to leave Europe yet: the current fourth-generation model appeared in 2018, and soon the company is preparing to introduce a “refreshed” version.

During Covid 2020, Old World dealers sold 173,853 Focuses, a 22.5% decrease from a year earlier. This year, the negative dynamics of the model continues: in the first seven months, customers bought 56,059 cars, which is 45% less than in January-July last year. Probably, the current decline can be explained, among other things, by the fact that customers are waiting for the updated Ford Focus.
The development of a “refreshed” version of the model is currently in its final stages. It is expected that the company will introduce such a Ford Focus, designed for the European market, at the end of this year, and the novelty will reach dealers in the spring of 2022. For now, Ford continues to keep details about the appearance of the future Focus under wraps, allowing artists to continue to submit their own versions.

Judging by the fresh “picture”, during the restyling, the model can get other horizontally located headlights with modified LED daytime running lights (the shape of the head optics itself will remain practically the same). Also, the front part will be “refreshed” due to the bumper with another air intake integrated into it. As noted in the publication, this will give the car a more sporty look. They also decided to redraw the radiator grille: now it has a honeycomb pattern, and it is completely painted black.

There are no more recent images of the stern of the future novelty of the American brand yet. It is expected that in this part the update may affect only the rear lights. Also, there is no official data yet on the interior of the upcoming Ford Focus. It is expected that other materials and new colors will be used in the interior trim, a different touch-screen multimedia system will appear on the front panel, and the list of equipment will be replenished with new functions and security systems.

In the engine range of the “refreshed” Focus, there will probably be no “surprises”. The European Focus will retain the 1.0-liter EcoBoost gasoline engines (as part of the MHEV mild-hybrid unit), with output ranging from 100 to 155 hp. Also, 1.5-liter versions with returns from 150 to 182 hp will still be available. and EcoBlue diesel (power – from 120 to 155 hp). As previously reported, the Focus lineup will include a plug-in hybrid, which will be based on a 2.5-liter gasoline engine, working in tandem with an electric motor. The total system power is 190 hp. This version is expected to have front-wheel drive, an eight-speed “automatic” and a battery of “modest” capacity (1.1 kWh).
