Fiat is preparing a new crossover that will get a look in the style of the Centoventi concept
The Italian brand may present its new compact SUV in the second half of 2023. It is expected to have several hybrid versions as well as an all-electric one.
The automotive giant Stellantis was formed early last year as a result of the merger of the Italian-American company FCA and the French group PSA (the names of the merging parties are currently not used). It included all fourteen brands owned by the parties to the settlement agreement: Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Citroën, Dodge, DS, Fiat, Jeep, Lancia, Maserati, Opel, Peugeot, Ram and Vauxhall.

Other plans to develop the Fiat brand were made public in the summer of 2021. Then the head of the brand and marketing director of the corporation Stellantis Olivier Francois said that by 2030 the model range of the brand in Europe will be fully electrified. Also in the near future, the tasks of the auto giant include restoring sales of the Italian brand and returning profitability.
According to Carsalesbase, Fiat sales in Europe have been declining for the past four years. The decline was particularly noticeable in the wake of Covid 2020, with dealers selling just 475,041 units. (24.7% less than in 2019). By 2021, Old World customers have bought 467,940 vehicles (down 1.5% from the previous year). It should be noted that over the past ten years, the peak of the brand was 2017; then Fiat cars were sold in Europe with a circulation of 769,670 units.

To increase sales, Fiat will release several new products. Among them, a compact crossover is expected, the name of which has not yet been announced. It is possible that it will be the first in a line of models that will receive an exterior design in the style of the Centoventi concept. Recall that this show car was presented in the spring of 2019 as part of the Geneva Motor Show.
The length of the new Fiat SUV is expected to be around 4.5 meters. There is no information about what the future model of the Italian brand will be like. The designer of the Spanish edition of motor.es presented his version of the exterior of the SUV. Judging by the render, the model will have relatively small, rounded LED headlights, interconnected by a patterned grille in the form of horizontal strokes (the electric version will have a socket in this place).
Visualization of the new crossover Fiat
In the lower part of the front bumper of the new small Fiat crossover, an air intake of relatively “modest” dimensions is visible, rounded squares of “foglights” are located on the sides. The profile design is taken from the Centoventi concept, the roof rails are placed on the roof of the car.
It is expected that the future Fiat crossover will be based on the upgraded CMP (Common Modular Platform), and the “green” version will be based on the e-CMP station wagon. There is no official information about the “stuffing” of the novelty yet. It is assumed that the model will have several versions with internal combustion engines, but they will all be part of various hybrid installations. The electric version has a range of about 400 km without recharging. According to preliminary data, the premiere of the SUV will take place in the second half of 2023, and sales will begin in early 2024.
