Audi is preparing a “charged” novelty: the first image of the RSQ6 crossover

According to preliminary data, the German brand's sport utility vehicle will debut in mid-2024 and will likely reach dealers in Europe in 2025.

Audi, like other European manufacturers, continues to develop its own line of “green” models. As Kolesa.ru previously reported, one of the new products in the future will be the Q6 e-tron electric crossover. The pecking order is expected to take a place in the lineup between the Q4 e-tron SUV and the large e-tron SUV. Its presentation is likely to take place in the second half of this year, and sales of new items will begin in early 2023. Most likely, the model will have a “charged” version with the addition of RS to the name.

According to the Spanish edition of motor.es, the German company has applied for registration of a new trade name – RSQ6. The German brand's new electric sports crossover is expected to debut in mid-2024 and will likely hit showrooms in Europe as early as 2025.

There is no official word yet on what the Audi RSQ6 will look like. This allows the artist to fantasize about the likely appearance of a future novelty. Thus, the Motors.es designer presented to the public his version of the appearance of a sports crossover.

Reworking Audi RSQ6

Judging by the render, the RS version will have the same head optics, the design of the lower part of the front bumper and the shape of the plug located in place of the traditional radiator grill as in the not yet presented Q6 e-grom. At the same time, the pattern of this outlet will most likely be different, moreover, the part will most likely have a nameplate indicating “charged version“. Large air intakes located on the sides can also be done differently. In profile, the wheels of the original design are noticeable.

Images of the stern of the future “green” crossover and its interior are not yet available. Inside the sports SUV there will be a very large space for the driver and passengers (including due to the lack of a central tunnel). Salon, most likely, will receive details inherent in the RS-versions of the brand.

According to preliminary data, the Audi RSQ6 will be equipped with a twin-engine electrical installation (one motor for each axle) and a quattro all-wheel drive system. There is no information on the total power of the system yet, it is expected that it will be less than that of the “closest relative”, a completely “green” version of the Porsche Macan (not yet presented). The traction battery will be placed under the floor between the axles and will probably have a capacity of 100 kWh. At the same time, the power reserve on one charge for such an SUV will be about 700 km.

Last summer, Audi decided on a date to say goodbye to traditional internal combustion engines: the German brand will present its last car equipped with an internal combustion engine in 2026. It is assumed that from 2033 only hybrids and electric vehicles will remain in the lineup.
