Skoda showed Enyaq Coupe iV and its “charged” version. RS gaining “hundred” in 6.5 seconds

The Ereska presented today is the first “hot” model of the “green” line of the Czech brand – an SUV with a traditional roof does not have this option.

The Skoda brand, owned by Volkswagen, has become the first all-electric Skoda Enyaq crossover. This model debuted in September 2020 and went on sale in the Old World market the following month. Dealers managed to sell 40,889 units in Europe in the partial year 2021 (January to November), according to Carsalesbase. The result is somewhat higher for the “twin” – Volkswagen ID.4, which sold 46,079 units over the same period. Now it's time for the “brother” ID.5 – we are talking about the Enyaq Coupe iV coupe-crossover.

Skoda introduced the Enyaq Coupe iV, as well as its “charged” version with the addition of RS to the name today, January 31, as part of an online presentation. Compared to the traditional covered “electric SUV”, the coupe variant has a different upside. The coupe is 6mm taller than the standard Enyaq (1622mm). Due to the other stern, the length increased by 14 mm, this size is 4563 mm. The width and distance between the axles are the same: 1879 mm and 2765 mm, respectively.

Due to the body, the novelty has a more streamlined shape than the “ordinary” electric SUV, so the drag coefficient is less – 0.234 (for the “ordinary” SUV – 0.255). However, the “charged” Enyaq Coupe RS iV crossover has a higher figure (due to a different bumper design) – 0.248. Trunk volume “coupe” – 570 liters (standard version – 585 liters). The place for placing the number has been moved from the fifth door to the rear bumper.

As base wheels, the Enyaq Coupe iV has 19-inch wheels (the “regular” crossover has 18-inch wheels), while the “Hereska” has standard 20-inch wheels. The standard equipment of coupe-like crossovers includes a panoramic roof, in addition, the “charged” SUV is equipped with matrix head optics, as well as LED lighting of the outlet, located instead of the traditional radiator grille.

Salon “coupe” almost does not differ from the interior decoration of a crossover with a conventional roof. Unless the Coupe modification, even in the basic version, received a 13-inch touchscreen of the infotainment system (the initial version of the “simple” Enyaq has 10 inches). The diagonal of the virtual “order” is 5.3 inches; a projection screen with an augmented reality complex is optionally available. The novelty offered various interior design options.

The “green” Skoda Enyaq cross-coupe will have only four versions (there is no basic version that the standard SUV has). So here the countdown starts with the characteristics of the Coupe 60 iV: it has an electric motor on the rear axle, it produces 179 hp, as well as a battery with a capacity of 62 kWh. Then comes the Coupe 80 iV variant with a 204-horsepower electric motor and a larger battery of 82 kWh. This is the most long-range modification – without recharging, it can travel 545 km (the calculation was carried out according to the WLTP cycle). Note that this figure is higher than that of a standard crossover – a maximum of 534 km. The third version – Skoda Enyaq Coupe iV 80x – has all-wheel drive, the total power of the twin-engine unit is 265 hp.

The top version, Enyaq Coupe RS iV, also has two electric motors (one for each axle), their total power is 306 horsepower. Note that this model will be the first-born among electric “eresok”. Such a “hot” SUV has a lower sports suspension (ground clearance is less by 15 mm in front and 10 mm in the rear), and acceleration from zero to “hundreds” takes 6.5 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 180 km/h (for normal versions no more than 160 km/h).

The company has not yet declassified prices, sales of Skoda Enyaq Coupe iV and Enyaq Coupe RS iV in the Old World market will start in the spring of 2022. Note that in the domestic market for a regular electric Skoda SUV they ask for minus 1,124,900 Czech crowns (equivalent to about 3.9 million conventional units at the current exchange rate). Obviously, the initial cost of a coupe-shaped crossover will be higher.
