And now we see how the Koreans are rebuilding – in the fall of 2021 they will launch a new electric crossover Kia EV6 on the market with a range of more than 510 kilometers. Tremble Audi E-tron and Jaguar I-Pace. The world premiere was recently held in Seoul, the production of the new model is already underway in South Korea.
Up front, the EV6 has Kia's typical “tiger face” and has been refined for the digital age.
According to the Koreans, in their first model, designed exclusively for battery drives, electricity for 100 kilometers is available in just 4.5 minutes.
In addition to the base model, the almost 4.70 meter long Kia EV6 is also available in GT Line and GT versions.
The range of drive configurations includes two battery options: 58 kWh or 77.4 kWh, rear and all-wheel drive, and four motors ranging from 129 to 430 kW (169 to 584 hp).
Prices start at 44,990 euros, the GT Line, already equipped with a large battery as standard, starts at 54,990 euros, the GT version starts at 65,990 euros.
Kia's standard 7-year manufacturer's warranty also covers the battery. The EV6 is the first Kia model based on the new E-GMP (Electric-Global Modular Platform) electric platform.
With a long wheelbase of 2.90 meters, the Kia EV6 has the same interior space as a mid-range SUV despite its compact exterior dimensions.
The luggage compartment volume can be increased from 520 liters to approximately 1300 liters by folding down the rear seats. There is more storage space in front under the hood (up to 52 liters, depending on the configuration).
Like the GT Line, the standard all-wheel-drive EV6 GT is equipped with a 77.4 kWh battery, delivering 430 kW / 584 hp. and is said to deliver supercar-level performance.

According to the manufacturer, each EV6 is equipped for ultra-fast charging and can be connected to 800 and 400 volt charging stations without additional components or adapters. This allows all model variants to charge the battery from 10 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes.
And a 100-kilometer “refueling” can be done in less than four and a half minutes, for example, in a rear-wheel drive car with a 77.4 kWh battery.
Thanks to the Vehicle to Load (V2L) function, the EV6 battery can also be used as a power source, for example to control an electric grill or to charge an e-bike or, if necessary, another electric vehicle.
Kia's vision is to provide sustainable mobility solutions for consumers, communities and societies around the world. The brand's slogan “Movement that inspires” illustrates the goal of Koreans to inspire consumers with their products and services.
