Objectively about Geely Coolray. Advantages and disadvantages
The Chinese crossover has attracted increased attention recently. He was much praised and much scolded. During the Culrey test, I tried to abstract from all these assessments. And just describe what I liked and what I didn't.
Liked:
— Dynamics. Geely Coolray rides very cheerfully. For its money, 1.53 million conditional units in the maximum configuration at the time of the test, it rides better than all the cars presented recently.
– Interior decoration. The quality of the materials is excellent, there is no smell of plastic. The design is original. Getting into Geely Coolray is a pleasure.
— The abundance of numerous modern options, both electronic and the most common. From a car valet that really works to a panoramic roof.
Did not like:
– The disgusting work of climate control, which is impossible to “set and forget.” The Geely Coolray is constantly either cold or hot. Moreover, it can be cold at + 22C, and hot at + 18C.
– The questionable usefulness of some modern options. For example, Coolray ‘s front camera works as a DVR. But firstly, it instantly gets dirty in bad weather. Secondly, the recording is interrupted, for example, when the wipers are turned on. It itself does not resume, you need to go to the menu and turn it on again. Until the next turn.
– Vibrations at idle. The vibrations themselves are nonsense. But there are fears that the engine has already gone haywire, although the test car's mileage was only 11,000 km.
— Ability to refuel 92nd gasoline. Those. by itself, the 92nd is good, but for a turbocharged engine?
– Front-wheel drive. The same Hyundai Creta is not as glamorous, but will offer all-wheel drive for the same money.
By the way, prices have gone up. See how much the Coolreys are selling for now. So there is a demand?
Raises doubts:
– Durability 3-cylinder turbocharged engine. I have already mentioned vibrations. That is why they bother me. I heard that new cars didn't have them at all.
– Robotic box of Chinese design. The car goes with it well, in traffic jams, if the box pushes, then quite a bit. But how long will it last in many conditions? For me, this is a big question.
– The same applies to other components and assemblies. If the climate works strangely, how will other interesting features of this car behave?
