Having survived the planned restyling of the Trumpchi GS4 PKK, the Chinese crossover received a changed appearance, a modernized interior, more modern and advanced equipment, but no changes were found in the SUV technology.
Changes in the exterior design of the crossover body, it would seem minimal, but of very high quality and made it possible to give the SUV a more solid and modern look.

The front of the updated crossover in the GAC GS4 is new, full LED headlights, a slightly modified false radiator grille and a new, more solid and larger bumper with L-shaped sections of LED daytime running lights and foglights. The compact original shape has shifted closer to the center of the body.

The side of the facelifted SUV is updated only with the rear view mirror housing (the shape of the mirrors is optimized for better aerodynamics) and light alloy wheels with a new pattern. For the crossover, they are available in 17 and 18 inch wheels, respectively, with tires 215/60 and 215/55 P17 P18.

Feeding the rescaling version of the Chinese SUV received upgraded taillights with redesigned reflector graphics, and a larger bumper with L-shaped fog lamps and elongated trapezoidal tailpipes (actually it's a decorative bumper cover, not an exhaust pipe).

Changes in the exterior design of the body are mainly associated with the presence of new bumpers, slightly modified dimensions of the body of the updated crossover compared to the pre-reform model.

In technical terms, the crossover in the GAC GS4 has not changed. As before, the model is on a platform with a fully independent front (MacPherson) and rear (multi-link) suspension architecture. All-wheel disc brakes, electric power steering, only front-wheel drive, but, perhaps, everything will soon be available in a full version of the crossover drive with a Visco clutch for connecting the drive to the rear wheels.
Under the hood, the SUV has a choice of two petrol four-cylinder turbocharged engines.

• The initial 1.3 turbo engine (137 hp 202 Nm) is paired with a 5 manual transmission or an optional 7-speed DCT robotic gearbox.
• A more powerful 1.5 turbo engine (152 hp 235 Nm) is able to work in tandem with 5 manual transmissions, 6 automatic transmissions and 7DCT.
