Restyling brought the Fiat Fiorino van a new interior, but they were waiting for another engine

The inside of the “heel” received from the Strada pickup, on the outside of the model, has also changed. And while they haven't expanded their engine lineup, there are still some technical upgrades.

The current Fiorino van is made from an inexpensive Fiat Uno tailgate and has been produced in Brazil since 2013 (not to be confused with the Turkish-built Fiorino, this model is built on the Punto platform). The original car was restyled in 2016, but the heel has just been updated. But the commercial model is now more in line with the current style of the brand, and the design of Uno is already outdated.

The headlights and hood of the Fiorino are borrowed from the “five-door” donor, but the grille and front bumper are theirs. In addition, a large Fiat lettering flaunts on the radiator grille instead of the previous red-lined emblem. And compared to the pre-reform model, the upgraded fog lights have become higher. The length of the “heel” has increased by 23 mm to 4407 mm, as before, it can carry 650 kg of cargo on board.

The interior is completely new, inside the Fiorino the new Fiat Strada pickup was copied, but neither multimedia nor radio was installed on the van, and the steering wheel was without buttons and glossy inserts. The new “trim” has a fairly large color display, and door boards and seats have also been replaced. Restyled “heel” is offered in a single configuration, from the new equipment – ESC and Hill Holder. There is also power steering, air conditioning and crankcase protection.

Brazilian media outlets predicted that the “atmospheric” four-cylinder Fiat Fiorino 1.3 Firefly with a maximum output of 109 hp would have to complement the naturally aspirated “quattro” 1.4 Fire Evo. But the engine has remained the same, although it has been modified to meet the new local regulations, so the power has been slightly reduced: now the engine produces 84 hp instead of 85 hp on gasoline and 86 instead of 88 hp on ethanol., widespread in Brazil. They say that the van has fallen in price. The Fiorino is still only available with a five-speed “mechanics” and has also been updated, as has the suspension.

In Brazil, for an updated Fiat Fiorino, they ask for 99,990 local reais, which at the current rate is equivalent to about 1,300,000 conventional units. Subsequently, such a van will reach Argentina and some other Latin American countries. And in Mexico and many other Latin American countries, the “heel” is sold under the Ram brand – a clone, apparently, will be updated in the near future.
