Lexus RC in 2019 – restyling of the Lexus RS coupe

The Japanese luxury coupe 2-door Lexus RC has undergone a planned restyling, officially presented in the last days of summer 2018. In our review of the Lexus RC 2018-2019 – photos, price, equipment and specifications of two Japanese Lexus RS doors with an updated appearance in the style of the flagship Lexus LC coupe, an upgraded interior, and an optimized suspension. The world premiere of the updated Lexus RC coupe in 2018-2019 will be held as part of the Paris Motor Show in October this year.

The start of sales of the restyled version of the Lexus RS in Japan and America will be in the fall of 2018, but recently the updated two-door Japanese will appear only at the beginning of the next 2019. According to preliminary information, the price of the restyled Lexus RC in the coupe in the current market will remain on the pre-reform model, that is from 3,979,000 conventional units for a coupe with a gasoline 245-horsepower turbo-four in a company with 8 automatic transmissions and rear-wheel drive.

The pre-reform two-door Lexus in Kazakhstan is based on a combined platform of four-door sedans Lexus and Lexus GS entered the market 4 years ago (the world premiere took place in April 2014 at the New York Auto Show). And I can honestly say that I did not meet the expectations of the Lexus management. From the beginning of sales, the implementation of the two-door coupe leaves much to be desired. By the end of 2016, only 11,165 coupes were sold in the US, and last year, less than 7,363 cars were sold. Also sad is the sale of the Lexus RS in Europe, with 1,815 cars sold in 2016 and 1,390 cars sold in 2017. By the way, in the current market in 2016, only 13 Lexus RC coupes found their owners and in 2017, 12 copies of the Lexus RS.

Thus, the restyling of 2018 can be called for an emergency sports two-door coupe Lexus RC car, although, and this is, by and large, cosmetic. As mentioned at the beginning of our review, the updated RC coupe has tweaked the exterior, giving it a closer resemblance to the Lexus LNR coupe, tweaked the interior and upgraded the suspension and steering.

The exterior of the two-door helicopter received a new, fully LED headlights (in a single unit located in a three-story section of low beam headlights, LED running lights and stylish strokes of LED running lights), a mesh grille grille for all versions without exception (previously installed only on the coupe performed by F Sport), upgraded front bumper with large side air ducts, modified rear bumper with real air ducts and diffuser, new large rear lights with tides at the bottom extreme points and with bright L-shaped sections, another trunk lid.

Lexus says the new bodywork has improved the coupe's aerodynamics, and the stylish new alloy design of the 19-inch wheels adds to the car's elegance. Swirl Blue Metallic has been added to the coupe enamel color palette.

In the cabin of the updated Lexus RS coupe, innovations, at least. Interior specialists added leather-trimmed side consoles, a new and more comfortable armrest between the front seats, an analog clock with a black dial like a Lexus LPR, and metal-look ventilation vents. Also worth noting is the new hairline finish.

In the technique of the Japanese restyled Lexus RC in the weight change coupe:

• firstly, to use new low-profile tires with high traction characteristics;
• secondly, new shock absorbers and stiffer bushings were installed;
• thirdly, the engineers gave the coupe a new, brighter, more sporty suspension and steering settings;
• fourth, the 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine was more responsive when pressing the accelerator pedal.

All technical improvements aimed at providing a brighter, richer, sportier and more charming handling coupe.
