Porsche is preparing a new Macan: a new image of the “green” crossover
Competition in the European market for the model of the German brand will be the recently introduced “electric SUV” Maserati Grecale Folgore.
Porsche launched the Macan crossover on the market in 2014, four years later the model underwent the first restyling, and last year it was refreshed again. According to the results of the “COVID” 2020, old-world dealers of the brand sold 16,865 copies, which is 31% less than a year earlier. In 2021, the dynamics continue to be negative (although the fall was less noticeable), with buyers buying 15,757 units over the specified period (down 6.6).

The fact that the company will soon introduce the next generation Porsche Macan, as well as its fully electric version, has been known for more than a year. According to the Spanish edition of motor.es, a few months are left before the world premiere of the novelty (it is expected to be released in the spring). Now the project is in the final stage: prototypes are completing road tests.
There is no official information about what the Porsche Macan EV will look like yet. Motor.es designer offers his version of the possible exterior of the “green” crossover. Judging by the render, the novelty will even have a different silhouette compared to the current model: instead of a “family” SUV, Porsche will probably offer a sports SUV. It is expected to have slightly more compact proportions and dimensions. An active spoiler can be integrated into the base of the tailgate glass.

The design of the Macan EV's front end and its rear end is believed to have references to the Porsche Taycan electric vehicle. The head optics, judging by the image, may turn out to be “two-story”, it will have LED daytime running lights and direction indicators in the form of four recognizable elements (in each headlight), and the dipped beam will be located on the front lower level. Instead of the traditional grille – a plug, and in the lower part of the front bumper – an air intake.
The stern of the future “green” Porsche crossover has not yet been declassified. Tail lights should be narrow and connected to each other by a thin strip of light running across the entire width of the tailgate. Along the perimeter of the body, you can see a small black plastic body kit.

The company is keeping this under wraps for now. According to the spy photos that appeared earlier on the network, the interior will be minimalistic, there will be several digital screens on the front panel. The car will be able to accommodate five people, while there will be plenty of space for passengers sitting in the back (due to the PPE electromobility platform).
According to preliminary data, the Porsche Macan EV will follow the Taycan in terms of “stuffing”: the “electric SUV” will have a single electric motor or a twin-engine unit (maximum power is expected in the region of 500 liters or all-wheel drive. It is supposed to offer 83 and 100 kWh batteries; probably maximum autonomy without recharging will be about 600 km Market launch is scheduled for the first half of 2023.
