The updated Skoda Kodiaq is now available with diesel: Euro-6
The world premiere of the updated Skoda Kodiaq crossover took place in April, and the Russian premiere in September. At the start of sales, the refurbished Kodiaq was offered with us only with turbocharged gasoline engines, and now diesel has returned to the range. Power remains the same: 150 hp, but the exhaust is cleaner.
In connection with the update, this year has become a transitional year for the Skoda Kodiaq crossover, and for several months Russian consumers were left without a diesel modification, but nevertheless, out of 13,463 Kodiaqs officially sold in our country in the first three quarters, in 2021, 3003 were diesel versions in a pre-styling body, that is, the share of diesel engines accounted for 22.3%. For comparison, let’s say that in 2020, when there was no global shortage of microchips yet, out of 20,578 Kodiac diesels sold 📌, there were 7329, or 35.6%.
In general, many users need the Kodiaq diesel, and Skoda has finally brought it: the Russian representative office announced the start of sales, but prices have not yet been announced. However, it is already clear that prices will rise, but the consumer is ready for this, but if he is ready to service "treatment facilities" bolted to the familiar EA288 diesel family, next year’s sales statistics will show.
Previously, the Kodiaq was equipped with Euro 5 DBGC diesel engines, and now Euro 6 DFGA series (and in its final version), that is, with the SRC system, which, by injecting urea into the exhaust manifold, reduces nitrogen oxide emissions into the atmosphere … The power is the same: 150 hp, the gearbox is a 7-speed DSG “automatic" with two clutches, only full thrust. Dynamic characteristics have not yet been announced, but for reference, let’s assume that the European Kodiaq with this power unit accelerates to 100 km / h in 9.6 s, the maximum speed is 200 km / h. Also in Europe there is a version of this diesel engine with a capacity of 190 horsepower, with it, Kodiaq picks up the first "hundred" in 7.7 seconds and a maximum of 218 km / h, but for now we will only have 150 horsepower.
Along with the diesel engine, Skoda has brought a new vibrant orange color to the Kodiaq lineup – just what you need for the gloomy winter season.
