2019 Porsche 911 is a sports car like the Porsche 911 992 series
The new German sports car Porsche 911 (series 992) is officially presented on November 28, 2019 and scored its world premiere at the Los Angeles Auto Show. In our review of the Porsche 911 2019-2020 – news, photos and videos, price and equipment, specifications of the new 8th generation Porsche 911 coupe with factory index 992. At the Los Angeles Auto show in 2018, the German company showed the rear-wheel drive Porsche 911 Carrera S and all-wheel drive Porsche 911 Carrera 4C, including a 3.0-liter turbocharged 450-horsepower engine in the company of a new 8-speed dual-clutch “robot” PDK.
Sales of the new Porsche 911 (series 992) will recently begin only in mid-2019, but the cost of the novelty is already known. The price of a Porsche 911 Carrera S with rear-wheel drive will be from 7 million 749 thousand conventional units, and a Porsche 911 Carrera 4S with all-wheel drive will cost at least 8 million 199 thousand conventional units. During the year, the new rear-engined German sports car of the 992 series will replace the model of its predecessor with the index 991. So we have a lot of new premier: the base Porsche 911 Carrera, the open version of the Porsche 911 convertible, the Porsche 911 Targa, the Turbo powerful version and of course track GT versions of the new generation of the Porsche 911 (series 992).
By the way, different versions of the previous generation Porsche 911 (series 991) have already found more than 218 thousand buyers in the world today, and the final withdrawal from production, the total result can be around a quarter of a million, which is an excellent indicator for a car whose minimum cost is more than 100 thousand euros.
What about the new 8th generation Porsche 911, which received the factory index 992?
Loyalty to tradition. Because we are the heir to the legendary 911 model from Porsche, produced for 55 years. A lot of the latest technology and the evolution of exterior and interior design. The new Porsche 911 (series 992) is a more advanced and modern version of the Porsche 911 (series 991).
Designers have tried to give a new 911 appearance, reminiscent of the models of the 60-70s of the 20th century. Remotely new, perhaps similar to the “first” Porsche 911, stood on the assembly line in Zuffenhausen, Germany in 1963 (he created the model by Ferdinand Porsche's grandson, Ferdinand Porsche III and Erwin Komenda), but to hide the full LED matrix headlights, recessed door knobs (powered out after command sensors seeing hands), huge 20-inch rims in front and 21-inch rear with low-profile tires, LED garlands of taillights and a pair of exhaust pipes, as inherited from a car from a jet aircraft, this did not happen.
In any case, these are the most modern interpretations of the Porsche 911 with an increase in the length of the front overhang, which ensures high standards of pedestrian safety, powerful front and rear wheel arches, regardless of the type of drive (body width of all versions is now 1852 mm), most of the hinged body panels are made of aluminum, more massive bumpers, the original brake light in the form of a pair of vertical LED strips.
The interior of the new Porsche 911 generation, as conceived by the creators, should also convey the spirit of the legendary model of 50 years ago. Perhaps the builders have in mind a visor that extends across the entire width of the front panel? Other details from the past, we have not found.
But the most advanced and modern equipment is in abundance. Having the latest instrument cluster with an analog tachometer and positioned on full color edge-to-edge screens (same instruments, new Porsche Panamera and Porsche Cayenne installed), a 10.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, new seat design, we offer optional night vision system with thermal imager, automatic braking system, adaptive control cruise control option and Stop & Go functions, autonomous emergency stop system of all-round visibility.
Specifications Porsche 911 (series 992) 2019-2020.
According to preliminary information, the suspension schemes, the new model remained the same as the previous generation of the 911 model. Front McPherson struts were installed, a multi-link rear, but, of course, significantly upgraded and improved with several aluminum elements.
Introduced at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the rear-wheel drive Porsche 911 Carrera S and the all-wheel drive Porsche 911 Carrera 4S are powered by a 3.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine from its predecessor in the Porsche 911 (991 series), which models only three years ago. Of course, Porsche mechanics slightly upgraded the engine and made some changes (exhaust manifold made of aluminum, upgraded injection system, diesel particulate filter get WLTP certificate) to raise the power from 420 to 450 horsepower.
The base manual transmission of 7 gears remains in service. But instead of a 7-speed automatic transmission available for models with the index 991, in tandem with a more powerful engine of the new Porsche 911 (series 992) it works with a new 8-speed PDK with a robot (a joint development of Porsche and ZF companies). Interestingly, the new gearbox, despite the large number of stages in size, is even smaller. Let me tell you a secret that the unused space will go to the engine, so we will soon see a hybrid Porsche 911.
The new generation Porsche 911, thanks to its powerful 450-horsepower engine and new gearbox, has become more dynamic than its predecessor, outdated products. The rear-wheel drive Porsche 911 Carrera s shoots from 0 to
100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds, top speed is 308 km/h.
, below, 306 km.
