Audi is preparing a liftback A6 e-tron: the first image of the sports “five-door”
The German brand is expected to enter the market in 2023. The “stuffing” of this liftback will be completely electric.
Sales of Audi cars in Europe have been falling for the past two years. So, according to the results of “covid” 2020, buyers bought 601,844 copies, which is 18.8% less than a year earlier. And in 2021, Old World dealers sold 591,457 units. (1.7% less). Like many other global manufacturers, Audi continues to develop a line of electric vehicles.

One of the novelties in the future will be the Audi A6 e-tron liftback. In April 2021, a German company in Shanghai showed a concept model of the same name. Now the manufacturer is working on the creation of a production car based on this show car: previously, photo spies have already caught a prototype of the future “five-door”, camouflaged during road tests.
There is no official information about what the new Audi liftback will look like yet. The designer of the Spanish publication motor.es offers his version of the likely appearance of the A6 e-tron. Judging by the render, the car will have a narrow-shaped head optics designed in the style of the concept (matrix headlights can optionally be offered). At the same time, the end cap that sits in place of the traditional grille is likely to look different than on the show car. It is assumed that it will be painted in body color (moving elements responsible for cooling and aerodynamics can be integrated).
It is not yet known what the interior of the new German brand will be like. The interior is expected to be minimalist. A pair of Full HD screens will be placed on the front panel, one as a virtual “computer”, the second screen will be larger: it will probably take up most of the center console. In length, the liftback can stretch up to 4.96 meters (this figure was found in the Audi A6 e-tron concept, presented last spring).
The electric liftback will be based on the PPE (Premium Platform Electric) model platform, which was created jointly with Porsche (both Audi and Porsche are part of the Volkswagen concern). The Audi Q6 e-tron and the upcoming Porsche Macan EV are based on the same “vehicle” (we recently posted a render of this crossover).

According to preliminary data, the A6 e-tron will have versions with one or two electric motors (respectively, front-wheel drive or quattro all-wheel drive). Recall that the concept was equipped with a twin-engine power plant, the total power of which was 476 hp, and the maximum torque was 800 Nm. In this version, the battery capacity was 100 kWh, the power reserve is supposedly enough for 700 km without recharging.
The production of the Audi A6 e-tron will be launched in China (on the territory of the plant in Changchun), it is possible that the production model will arrive on the conveyor already in the form of a sedan. Also, the launch is likely to be adjusted in Europe. The novelty of the German brand should enter the market in 2023.
