T80 yema – practical-Chinese crossover

It's a shame, but the sale of the new Chinese crossover T80 Yema has not been planned recently, the model is intended exclusively for the Chinese automotive market.
The new model of the T80 crossover by the young Chinese automobile company Yema Auto (Yema Automobile Sichuan Co. LTD.), engaged in the production of cars, SUVs and buses, only since 2002, was a very interesting novelty. The front-wheel drive crossover is at the same time alluring, stylish, sporty and simple body exterior design (somewhat reminiscent of the 2nd generation Haval H6, which was introduced after Yema model T80), a bright interior spied on by the German manufacturer Mercedes, very rich equipment and modern technical aspects of.

The new model Yema auto SUV T80 is a typical representative of compact crossovers and try in the Chinese market to compete with such bestsellers as Haval H6, PKK Trumpchi GS4, Baojun 560, Buick Present, Chang'an CS75, Nissan Qashqai, Zotye T600, Geely Boyue car and Haima C5.

The T80 Yema crossover was introduced in September 2016 at the Chengdu Motor Show, and the first official photos of the new product appeared on the network a year ago, in May 2016. New and Haval H6 was marked debut showing on February 20, 2017. So another question is which manufacturers assembled the structure.

The bodywork of the new Chinese crossover is concise and complete, harmonious and slender compact SUV. In addition, the car is no different in its catchy appearance, but it is difficult to call it boring. The main striking detail of the exterior is a solid line of the radiator grille, highly raised headlights with LED daytime running lights (in expensive trim levels, all LED headlights), a massive front bumper with original fog lamps, a long hood, round wheel arch cutouts, a slightly sloping roofline towards the stern, adding crossover sportiness, a solid rear neatly with LED marker lights, large and comfortable doors topped with a spoiler top and a simple bumper, complemented by foglights and narrow trapezoid exhaust tips.

The five-seat interior of the new T80 Yema crossover meets the driver and passengers not only with an enviable supply of space and quality materials, but also, traditionally for cars from China, rich equipment. A round Mercedes looks very stylish with aviation-style ventilation deflectors. This console is only the front panel and the central shredded rough shape is clearly not the face of the beauty of the news.

There are a lot of such strange combinations in the interior. Next to the neighbor is a modern digital instrument panel and trivial air conditioning, a stylish multifunctional steering wheel and, as an external part, an automatic knob, a magnificent 10-inch color screen of the multimedia system and a clunky lower part of the front panel, LED backlighting and sticky metal-look decorative inserts. Turning a blind eye to the interface in style, the interior of the new Chinese SUV will find comfortable, ergonomic and clearly not boring.

We add, in the asset of the model, the availability of equipment, such as a keyless entry system with an engine start button, an electric parking brake, a panoramic glass roof, electric adjustment of the front seats, electric mirrors with automatic folding, rear row of seats with adjustable tilt, all-round visibility system, 6 airbags safety and even leather seat trim.

The luggage compartment is also one of the assets of the model and will be able to appreciate the impressive dimensions: the minimum width between the rear wheel arches is 1080 mm, the length is 930 mm behind the backs of the second row to 1820 mm from the rear door to the back of the first row, the height is 760 mm. In the metro, an excellent organizer for convenient placement of small luggage. That's just a full-size spare wheel on an alloy wheel mounted on the outside under the bottom of the car.

The new Chinese crossover will be available with two four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engines, but only with front-wheel drive. The suspension of all wheels is independent with MacPherson struts at the front and a multi-link at the rear, front and rear disc brakes, electric power steering.

A 1.5 turbo prime mover (150 hp 200 Nm) paired with a 5 manual transmission provides a car with a curb weight of 1545 kg, max. speed is 160 km / h, and the dynamics of acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 12 seconds. The average fuel consumption, declared by the manufacturer at the level of 7.4-7.7 liters.
A more powerful 2.0 turbo engine (218 hp and 280 Nm) is paired with a 6-speed DCT robotic gearbox. The crossover with a mass of 1665 kg accelerates to 100 km / h in 9 seconds and gains a maximum speed of 185 km / h, the average fuel consumption is 8.3-8.5 liters.
