Overview of the Audi A4 in the back of B9

I present to your attention a five-seater, four-door sedan, Audi A4 (fifth generation restyling), in the back of B9. Available for sale in 2019. Assembled car in Germany. There are both front-wheel drive versions of the car and all-wheel drive. I have a front-wheel drive Audi A4 in my publication.

First Impressions

Do you know what I like about the appearance of the Audi A4? This is a well-drawn body design, in which, in my opinion, there is nothing superfluous. The car looks stately and presentable.

As for the optics, the headlights and taillights are LED as standard.

under the hood

At the time of my visit to the showroom, namely at the beginning of 2021, the Audi A4 had three different, two-liter powertrains to choose from.

• Acceleration to 100 km / h in 8.9 seconds. Claimed top speed is 210 km/h. Combined cycle fuel consumption per 100 km approximately – 5.9 liters
• Acceleration to 100 km / h in 7.1 seconds. Claimed top speed is 241 km/h. Combined cycle fuel consumption per 100 km, approximately – 6.1 liters.
• Acceleration to 100 km / h in 5.8 seconds. Claimed top speed is 250 km/h. Combined cycle fuel consumption per 100 km, approximately – 6.8 liters

I won't say anything about the reliability of the motors, since this car has not been exploited. If you have something to share about this, be sure to write about it in the comments. Many readers will be interested to know about the vaunted German quality.

The car belongs to class D.

• Length-4762 mm.
• Height-1428 mm.
• Width-1847 mm.
• Wheelbase-2820 mm.
• The curb weight of the car, depending on the configuration, varies from 1585 kg to 1645 kg. Permitted gross weight from 2014 kg to 2135 kg.

Let's look under the car

The front suspension is independent, multi-link, spring. With integrated anti-roll bar. The front axle brakes are ventilated disc brakes. The width of the front track is 1572 mm. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that the lower part of the engine compartment is well protected, that is, it is closed with a solid / composite protection.

Carrying body. Ground clearance is about 14 centimeters. Aerodynamic sound-absorbing shields are installed on the bottom.

The rear suspension is independent, multi-link, spring. With integrated anti-roll bar. Disc brakes are installed on the rear axle. Width of a back track – 1555 mm.

If to the front and central part of the bottom, I had no complaints, then to the back, there is something to catch on. I did not like the way the outer protection of the “bath” of the spare wheel is arranged. It seems that they saved on materials.

Also in the photo above we see that the car has a single-pipe exhaust system, bifurcated into two mufflers. I think that this is an excellent design solution, which ensures quiet operation of the engine.

Back view

I confess that I like the Audi A4 station wagon more. However, the Audi A4 sedan is more common. I think pricing plays an important role in this, since the sedan is more affordable.

Let's look in the trunk

The volume of the luggage compartment is about 460 liters. The rear seat backrests fold down in a ratio of 1/3, 2/3 or completely. Under the raised floor is a compact spare wheel and a tool for removing it.

The luggage compartment is well-made, where the hinges of the trunk lid are hidden, which is very convenient when placing luggage.

Under the “stowaway” is the battery. I note that on many German cars the battery is located in the luggage compartment.

Second row of seats

With my height of 180 cm, it is convenient to sit down on the second row of passenger seats. However, for taller people, I think it will be cramped.

I specifically, for photography, chose a car with a bright interior. Looks amazing. It looks especially beautiful and practical when a dark and light zone is combined, where more easily soiled areas are trimmed with dark material.

The seat trim, in the car in question, is made of a combined material – leather and leatherette. According to tactile sensations – the material is wear-resistant, of good quality. The stitching is even.

Two passengers sit comfortably on the second row of passenger seats. Three will already be crowded. There is a comfortable armrest.

Between the front row of seats, in the armrest, there is a built-in climate control panel, as well as two USB connectors and a 12-volt outlet.

At the driver's workplace

It is comfortable to sit in the driver's seat. Visibility is good. The range of adjustment of the seat and steering column is enough to find a comfortable position behind the wheel.

I note that a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel trimmed with leather and an electrically adjustable driver's seat are present in all trim levels of the Audi A4 car .

The instrument panel (torpedo) is made in a modern style. The way Parpriz's assembly is framed does not cause any comments for me. The parts fit exactly, the quality of the plastic is good. The LCD monitor located in the central part does not obstruct the driver's view. The climate control system is well readable and understandable. Hand brake drive is electric, on/off is carried out by a button.

In general, I liked the Audi A4 in the back of the B9. In the car dealership that I visited, the cost for a car in the minimum configuration was announced to me at 2,450,000 conventional units.
