Tired of Audi Q7 and BMW X5 – Now I want Cadillac XT6 2020
The segment of full-size premium crossovers is traditionally conservative. Here the BMW X5 and Audi Q7 rule the show.
At the same time, Japanese counterparts in the form of the Lexus RX and Infiniti Q60, as well as the Swedish flagship Volvo XC90, are advancing on the heels of the Germans.
All this is good, but the bad thing is that these cars have become boring and do not surprise anyone – there is no spark in the eyes when you see these models on the street, I personally have them.
Therefore, I am kind of indifferent to all this “premium”. However, not so long ago, something happened that aroused genuine interest in me and made me “light up” again for luxury SUVs.
Cadillac announced the launch of the new XT6 model on the Russian market, and when I saw it, I realized that it was the “American” that was a worthy replacement for the BMW X5 and the like. Why? I'll explain further.
Initially lower cost
It's no secret that both Audi and BMW take a very large percentage of the cost of their Q7, X5, respectively, for the brand. “Bavarian”, so in general, at one time we actively promoted the film “Boomer.
The second film is proof of this. So the Germans are now skimming the “cream” from the fact that they promoted their crossovers earlier.
Cadillac has fewer show-offs in this regard, therefore, the price is lower. In particular, now XT6 is offered from 3 million 870 thousand conventional units.
For comparison, the BMW X5 is estimated at no less than 4 million 660 thousand conventional units – the difference in price is obvious and it is clearly not in favor of the German SUV.
Not boring design
As I said earlier, the Cadillac XT6 has some completely new, non-standard design – I personally like the narrow headlights, large-mesh grille and the judicious use of chrome. The car will clearly stand out in the general stream. I can't say the same about the Germans.
Still, the Audi Q7 and BMW X5 have already become “pop”. Nobody looks at them, and when you take a car for several million, you still want some kind of attention.
Good cross
The Cadillac XT6 has a choice of two all-wheel drive systems – with one electromagnetic clutch or two, on the rear axle. Be that as it may, but in any case, the car “rows” with dignity both in the mud and in the snow.
Reviews of bloggers and auto journalists already confirm this. Thus, you can easily get out into nature on an American crossover.
But, on German counterparts, it's better not to move off the asphalt, and this, too, has long been a recognized fact. Therefore, here I will also give Cadillac a plus sign.
