Cars FAW Junpai CX65 2018 – a new Chinese cross-station wagon
Budget Chinese cars is a cross-wagon hatchback FAW Junpai CX65 is ready to enter the Chinese market, on May 17, 2018. In our review of the FAW Junpai CX65 2018-2019, photos, prices and full specifications are a raised station wagon with 172 mm ground clearance, a plastic body kit around the body perimeter, both crossovers and exterior body design from the Italian studio Italdesign.
Based on the budget FAW Junpai A50 sedan, the FAW Junpai CX65 cross-universal car is equipped with a 113-horsepower 1.5-liter gasoline engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission that sends power to the front wheels, and is offered in China at a price of 70,000-90,000 yuan (690-890 thousand conventional units).
The new cross-wagon hatchback FAW Junpai CX65 is designed for the Chinese market, and in all likelihood, our country does not appear. It’s a pity. It would be very interesting to evaluate the increased Chinese universal in the comparative tests of the Kia Rio X-line, and many Renault Sandero, Lada Vesta station wagon EO cross and 4-door sedan Lada Vesta Cross. By the way, all the cars that hypothetically could participate in the comparative test are the China cross-universal large – 4.6 meters in length, has a large 1510 liters of trunk and boasts a very interesting price in the range of 690-890 thousand conventional units. The Korean cross-hatch Kia Rio X-Line is offered at a price of 795 thousand conventional units, the French Renault Sandero and much more costs from 660 thousand with 82 horsepower and 700 thousand with a 113-horsepower engine, and Lada Vesta SW and cross, please, at least 770 thousand.
- The external dimensions of the car body FAW Junpai CX65 2018-2019 are 4596 mm long, 1785 mm wide and 1525 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2610 mm and 172 mm of ground clearance.
- The cross-universal comes standard with 17-inch wheels with 205/50 P17 tires.
Designers from Italdesign awarded the Chinese new modern look in the style of the model of the German company Volkswagen. Why Volkswagen? For two reasons:
- First, the Italian design studio is owned by the German auto giant
- and secondly, FAW and Volkswagen have been working closely together for many years, and the German company is trying to help Chinese partners to make cars as similar as possible to European cars.
Therefore, the FAW Junpai CX65 cross-station wagon and the FAW Junpai A50 sedan platform are Chinese cars for the local market, but clearly with the image of European cars.
Interestingly, marketers of the FAW (First Automobile Plant) company are positioning the new Junpai CX65 station wagon as a more affordable version of the Volkswagen Bora s-track cross-wagon, which is produced at the FAW-Volkswagen JV in China and offers local motorists at a higher price of 126,000-163,000 yuan. The new FAW Junpai CX65 looks as solid, modern and stylish as the model with the VW logo.
The front end is a new Chinese cross-station wagon with a compact radiator grille, decorated with chrome decor and a strict look of headlights (lens optics, LED daytime running lights sections) and a powerful bumper with original decorative moldings and foglights.
The part of the body above the road car demonstrates all the attributes of a modern car. Correct and harmonious proportions, calm, without frills, the relief of the side surfaces of the body, flowing smoothly onto the aft roof line, large wheel arch cutouts are filled with 17-inch wheels, and gourmet cuisine.
The rear budget Chinese product is made in a typical universal ship type: a large rectangular tailgate, a neat and compact bumper. But there is a large overhead marker light with sharp edges, complemented by a stylish chrome handle.
FAW Junpai CX65 cars declared by the manufacturer as a station wagon with increased ground clearance. Crossover attributes in the form of a plastic apron that protects the edges of the wheel arches, front and rear bumpers and sills and doors on the bottom are present, but the clearance is … just ridiculous – only 172 mm.
The interior of the new Chinese station is a budget wagon frankly. Even the presence of a modern multimedia complex with an 8-inch color screen (navigation, rear view camera, Bluetooth, Internet) and leather seat trim does not save the situation. The materials are cheap (hard plastics and faux leather), gaudy decorations, vintage architecture of the front fascia and center console.
- instrument panel with side screen, computer,
- multifunction steering wheel,
- multimedia with 8" color touch screen
- air conditioning,
- keyless entry system and engine start/stop button,
- power windows on all doors,
- rear-view mirrors with LED indicators, electric adjustment and heating
- front airbags,
- ABS, EBD, BAS and ESP systems, and
- rear parktronic,
- electric sunroof,
- light alloy 17-inch wheels.
The interior of the car can take 5 people. But if in the first row driver and the front passenger there is no reason to complain that the rear passengers, especially taller than 185 cm, are hindered by a low ceiling (fee for the drop-down dome roof in the stern). Legs, by the way, with a margin.
What will definitely please the cross-wagon is a roomy trunk with a maximum volume of 1503 liters is achieved by adding a split 40/60 rear seatback. The length of the luggage compartment varies from 1060 mm to the backs of the second row and 1870 mm to the backs of the first row, width 910-1260 mm, height 920 mm from floor to ceiling.
The opening of the trunk is large, rectangular. In a compact underground shuffled spare tire (rolling on steel 16 inch tires 125/80 R16 on).
Specifications of FAW Junpai CX65 2018-2019
In technology, the new Chinese cross-station wagon is all budget and simple. The model is a front-wheel drive "bogie" with McPherson struts in front and a torsion beam in the rear. Under the hood, from the beginning of sales, an atmospheric gasoline four-cylinder 1.5-liter engine of the blue path series from FAW (113 hp 141 Nm) with a 5 manual transmission will be registered. The engine suits, according to the manufacturer, 5.6-5.8 liters of fuel (hard to believe), and accelerates the car to a maximum speed of 180 miles per hour.
The plan is to eventually offer FAW Junpai CX65 car buyers a more modern turbo-diesel engine – a three-cylinder 1.0 Turbo (120 hp) with 6 manual transmissions or a robotic gearbox with two clutch discs.
