Designers from Italdesign awarded the Chinese new modern look in the style of the model of the German company Volkswagen. Why Volkswagen? For two reasons:

and secondly, FAW and Volkswagen have been working closely together for many years, and the German company is trying to help Chinese partners to make cars as similar as possible to European cars.

Interestingly, marketers of the FAW (First Automobile Plant) company are positioning the new Junpai CX65 station wagon as a more affordable version of the Volkswagen Bora s-track cross-wagon, which is produced at the FAW-Volkswagen JV in China and offers local motorists at a higher price of 126,000-163,000 yuan. The new FAW Junpai CX65 looks as solid, modern and stylish as the model with the VW logo.

The front end is a new Chinese cross-station wagon with a compact radiator grille, decorated with chrome decor and a strict look of headlights (lens optics, LED daytime running lights sections) and a powerful bumper with original decorative moldings and foglights.

The part of the body above the road car demonstrates all the attributes of a modern car. Correct and harmonious proportions, calm, without frills, the relief of the side surfaces of the body, flowing smoothly onto the aft roof line, large wheel arch cutouts are filled with 17-inch wheels, and gourmet cuisine.

The rear budget Chinese product is made in a typical universal ship type: a large rectangular tailgate, a neat and compact bumper. But there is a large overhead marker light with sharp edges, complemented by a stylish chrome handle.

FAW Junpai CX65 cars declared by the manufacturer as a station wagon with increased ground clearance. Crossover attributes in the form of a plastic apron that protects the edges of the wheel arches, front and rear bumpers and sills and doors on the bottom are present, but the clearance is … just ridiculous – only 172 mm.

The interior of the new Chinese station is a budget wagon frankly. Even the presence of a modern multimedia complex with an 8-inch color screen (navigation, rear view camera, Bluetooth, Internet) and leather seat trim does not save the situation. The materials are cheap (hard plastics and faux leather), gaudy decorations, vintage architecture of the front fascia and center console.

The interior of the car can take 5 people. But if in the first row driver and the front passenger there is no reason to complain that the rear passengers, especially taller than 185 cm, are hindered by a low ceiling (fee for the drop-down dome roof in the stern). Legs, by the way, with a margin.

What will definitely please the cross-wagon is a roomy trunk with a maximum volume of 1503 liters is achieved by adding a split 40/60 rear seatback. The length of the luggage compartment varies from 1060 mm to the backs of the second row and 1870 mm to the backs of the first row, width 910-1260 mm, height 920 mm from floor to ceiling.
