The Citroën C-Elysee sedan appeared in 2012; in 2016, the four-door has undergone a restyling. This model is now retiring: its sales have declined since 2018. Thus, only 2,780 vehicles were sold on the old market last year, which is 56.4% less than in the previous year. For comparison: at the peak in 2017, the French brand sedan sold 15,620 copies. Dealers seem to be selling off the remaining vehicles this year, with 727 units sold in the first eight months (down 61.8% on January-August 2020).

There is no exact information yet on what the new Citroën will look like for the European market. The designer of the Spanish publication motor.es decided to present his own version of the exterior of the sedan. The car presented in the render, in fact, is not much different from the model that will be produced in Brazil in the future (the exterior of the “four-door” was declassified in previous media).

The Citroën C4 L sedan is “raised” – this can be seen from the unpainted plastic body kit around the body and flared wheel arches. The model also has a solid ground clearance. The front part of the C4 is decorated in a recognizable X-shaped style, and the LED head optics are two-story, and the “top deck” is a very narrow headlight located along the hood line.

The internal factory index of the future “four-door” is C43, the closest “relative” of this car will be the current Citroën C4. The novelty will be based on the Common Modular Platform (CMP). It is expected that the novelty will receive from the C4, including a line of engines. According to preliminary data, it will consist of three- and four-cylinder engines. The power of gasoline versions varies from 100 to 155 hp, and diesels – from 110 to 130 hp. A pair of these engines will offer either a manual or “automatic” transmission.”

According to the publication, the production of new products at the Spanish plant will begin in October 2022, and the first copies will arrive at dealerships at the end of the same year or in the first quarter of 2023. An all-electric variant is expected to enter the line in the future, such as the Y-C4. This is a 136 horsepower electric motor located on the front axle. Recall that such a machine is equipped with a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 50 kW * h, the power reserve on a single charge is 375 km (the calculation was made according to the WLTP cycle).
