Porsche Macan T: economical tourist with lowered suspension and gray decor
The updated Porsche Macan last year received a T version that will help make the popular crossover even more popular.
The mid-size crossover Macan has been produced since 2017, in 2021 it underwent a planned restyling and lost the top version of Turbo (not really, it just became a GTS), and now a version with the letter T has appeared on the line, which in Porsche language means Touring, with this letter denotes refined but relatively affordable road models.
The Macan T is essentially a base Macan with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine (265 hp, 400 Nm) and a 7-speed PDK (dual clutch) automatic transmission, but with some nice touches.. So, the Macan T comes standard with a Sport Chrono package with special driving settings, a suspension lowered by 15 mm with PASM adaptive dampers and a stiffer front anti-roll bar, and an air suspension is offered for an extra charge, the ground clearance of which can be even lower. 10mm and PTV Plus active rear differential. Acceleration to 100 km / h takes 6.2 seconds (0.2 seconds faster than the base Macan), the maximum speed is 232 km / h.
Advantages of the Macan T over the more powerful Macan S (2.9L V6, 380PS) and Macan GTS (2.9L V6, 440PS) include a lighter front end, which makes the crossover more responsive in management – it's nice to drive it along serpentines, and fuel consumption is one and a half liters per “hundred” less than versions with V6. In general, a very good option for traveling around Europe with its good roads.
Macan T visual elements are painted in gray metallic (Agate Gray Metallic), door mirror caps, side moldings, front bumper trim, rear spoiler and logo on the tailgate, as well as four exhaust pipes instead of two at the base version. Macan, gloss black side windows and 20-inch wheels from the more powerful Macan S.
Elegant gray also adorns the interior: door sill finishers in dark aluminium, standard sport seats front with exclusive upholstery in dark leather with gray stitching and headrests embossed with Porsche emblems.
The price of the Macan T in conventional units has not yet been announced, in Germany it costs from 69,462 euros, while the base Macan – from 64,464 euros, Macan S – from 73,508 euros, Macan GTS – from 90,049 euros.
We add that last year the Macan became the most popular Porsche model: 88,362 copies were sold, while the Cayenne sold 83,071 units, and in total Porsche sold 301,915 cars in 2021, which is 11% more than in 2020. more popular than the Macan, with 3431 and 1413 units sold last year respectively.
The second generation Porsche Macan is expected in 2023, the crossover will be offered with an all-electric power plant.
