The coupe-like Haval H6 is presented in the “sport” version, but a “civilian” cross is expected later
The “sported” SUV will be offered with a two-liter petrol “turbo four”, as well as in the form of a hybrid. Later, the gamut may be replenished with a version with a more relaxed design.
The Haval H6 already had a modification with the Coupe prefix: it was made from the first generation SUV, it underwent restyling in 2018 (the pre-reform SUV was once sold and recently). However, from, in fact, the “coupe” of that cross has only a “surname”, because this is a model with a completely traditional body. The former H6 Coupe has left China, as well as from most other markets, but the crossover of the current, third generation, has found a coupe-like version. It is curious that this time they decided not to use the Coupe prefix – the new version was called H6S, where the “s” apparently hints at sport, or shark, because the designers were inspired by sharks.

So, the roof of the Haval H6S was not made sloping, but at the same time the rear window was “tilted” at the SUV, plus a tail of the trunk appeared. Some local media write that the length of the cross is 4780 mm, width – 1890 mm, height – 1680 mm, wheelbase – 2800 mm. However, other dimensions are given on the official website of the brand: 4727/1940/1729 mm, the distance between the axles is 2738 mm. Be that as it may, but the length of the “esca” really surpasses the standard “third” H6 (4653/1886/1730 mm, wheelbase – the same 2738 mm).

Outwardly, the coupe-like H6S also differs from the base crossover in more aggressive bumpers, in addition, it has a different grille and spoiler, there is black plastic on the wheel arches, and the rear lights are made separate. Already “in the base” there are 19-inch wheels and matrix head optics.
The interior was also finalized, although not so seriously: carbon-look inserts appeared inside, sports seats upholstered in Alcantara, and bright stitching. The equipment list also includes a virtual “tidy”, a multimedia system, a head-up display, a face recognition system, adaptive cruise control, auto-braking and lane keeping systems, all-round cameras and a traffic jam assistant.

Haval H6S is offered with a 2.0 petrol “turbo four” with a capacity of 211 hp. (325 Nm) and with a Lemon DHT hybrid installation (can operate in parallel or sequential mode), which included a 1.5 petrol turbo engine and two electric motors (one on each of the axles). The total return of the hybrid is 243 hp. and 530 Nm, it is stated that such a crossover accelerates from zero to “hundreds” in 7.5 seconds (the indicator for a purely gasoline cross was not named). The “regular” H6S comes with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.
Meanwhile, later Haval should bring to the market a “coupe” with a calmer look – at least this option was certified earlier. The “civilian” coupe-like SUV in front copies the current standard H6, in addition, the cars have the same rear lights – with a luminous jumper.

Well, the “sporty” cross-coupe H6S will make a public premiere this weekend, it will be held at the Chengdu Motor Show. Prices are known, but they seem to be preliminary: for a model with a 2.0T engine, they ask for at least 138,900 yuan (about 1,585,000 conventional units at the current exchange rate), a hybrid costs from 154,900 yuan (1,768,000 conventional units). The price of a “just” third-generation Haval H6 with a 1.5 turbo engine (169 hp) and front-wheel drive today starts at 115,900 yuan (1,323,000 conventional units).
