2017 new Suzuki Ignis is a mini crossover
We present the mini-crossover, the European version of the Suzuki Ignis in 2017-2018 – photos and videos, price and full technical specifications for the Suzuki Ignis miniature Japanese hatchback with an impressive 180 mm ground clearance and optional all-wheel drive. The new car for the European market is officially presented in Paris at the Paris Motor Show 2016. Sales of new items in Europe will start in January 2017 at an estimated price of 12,000 euros. Perhaps, in the spring, the new Suzuki Ignis gets up lately.
The Japanese company Suzuki positions the Ignis in Europe as a crossover… but it is more correct to attribute the new ones to the supplied compact hatchback, despite the presence of all-wheel drive (the rear wheels are connected and controlled by a viscous coupling). So the Japanese hatchback of the French-Indian Renault Kwid has competitors, to some extent, Renault Sandero and its Russian brother Lada Xray. And the Fiat Panda Tracking hatchback (front-wheel drive) and Panda Cross (all-wheel drive) should also not be discounted, although they are more expensive.
- The external dimensions of the body of the Suzuki Ignis 2017-2018 amount to 3700 mm in length, 1690 mm in width and 1595 mm in height, wheelbase 2435 mm and 180 mm ground clearance.
- The car is equipped with 16-inch wheels with tires 175/50 R16 on.
- The weight of the hatchback in working condition varies from 810 to 920 kg.
The external body design of the Suzuki Ignis can hardly be called stylish and is able to attract attention in the flow of this person. In appearance, everything is simple, just a box on wheels, spaced around the perimeter of a compact body with a large first and second line, powerful roof racks, miniature hoods and stern.
The brightest detail on the body of the hatchback, which is a crossover league, we can safely assume that the original headlights with graceful arches, LED daytime running lights, just a false radiator grille, massive bumpers and an impressive size of the ceiling of the parking lights, partially filled with LEDs.
Interestingly, the compact body size with tiny front and rear overhangs and impressive ground clearance for such a small ride gives the car excellent accessibility.
- The approach angle is 22 degrees, the ramp angle is 18 degrees, the departure angle is an impressive 38.8 degrees.
By the way, from the Japanese version of the Suzuki Ignis, the European version of the hatchback differs in other bumpers, which adds 100 mm to the total body length, 30 mm more in body width due to the lining on the wheel arches, plastic threshold guards and increased ground clearance.
Cabin elevated above the road Suzuki Ignis, despite the modest external dimensions of the body is able to comfortably accommodate five people, including the driver. While three passengers in the second row provide plenty of legroom, as an option there are even separate 50:50 back seats that can be moved along the cabin. Luggage capacity depends on the availability of all-wheel drive and optional sliding rear seats so that the second-row seatbacks can accommodate 204 to 267 liters of luggage, while the folding rear row seatbacks count for 463-514 liters of cargo volume.
As a standard and optional equipment of cars, the novelty will delight with the presence of a stylish and comfortable multifunctional steering wheel, an informative dashboard, a multimedia system and Google services, rear view camera, navigation, Bluetooth and USB LED interfaces), climate control, stereo cameras, bringing information to automatic braking and monitoring for unauthorized crossing of the marking line.
Technical characteristics of Suzuki Ignis in 2017-2018. Under the hood, the new Japanese hatchback provides for the installation of only one four-cylinder 1.2 Dualjet gasoline engine (90 hp 120 Nm) paired with a 5 manual transmission or an AGS robotic gearbox. The drive is by default on the front wheels, but for a fee, you can order a plug-in all-wheel drive.
In Europe, the new Suzuki Ignis will be offered with two types of powertrains: a conventional engine and a 1.2 Dualjet petrol engine, as well as a hybrid SHVS powerplant (motor-generator, lithium traction battery), we are familiar with the Suzuki Baleno.
Ignis internal combustion engine, front-wheel drive picks up the first hundred in 12.2 seconds, the hybrid version with all-wheel drive accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 11.5 seconds. Fuel consumption on the combined cycle varies from 4.3 liters (front-wheel drive hybrid version) to 5.0 liters in the all-wheel drive version with a conventional gasoline engine.
