This year, the revival of the sports division Ralliart was announced, which may entail a number of fine-tuned changes. One of them could be a sporty version of the Outlander crossover.

The Ralliart division was created in 1983 to develop the company's racing cars. Later he participated in the creation of road cars, as well as clothing and accessories. However, in March 2010, it was announced that the block had been halted due to the economic crisis. And in May of this year, Mitsubishi announced the revival of Ralliart. No specific timeline or model details were released until August, when it was reported that the unit's first-born would be a modified Outlander crossover. In addition, the Evolution name, which was worn by the “charged” versions of the Lancer sedan, produced before 2016, could also be returned.

It is not yet known what the sporty version of the new Outlander will look like, and there are no spy photos. However, it can be assumed that the novelty will receive a modified front end with an enlarged air intake in the bumper. In addition, the crossover shown in the render has an additional air intake in the hood and slots for air ducts in the front fenders – the same elements the Lancer Evolution sedan had. Behind the Outlander is a new bumper with a massive contrast insert, at the bottom of which is a diffuser and a pair of round pipes. The image is complemented by multi-spoke wheels, made in the style of Lancer Evolution X, and a lowered suspension.

According to preliminary information, the Evolution model will be based on the plug-in hybrid Outlander PHEV, announced at the end of last month. It is equipped with a naturally aspirated 2.4 petrol engine that runs on the Atkinson cycle and develops 133 hp and 195 Nm of torque. Also part of the hybrid configuration are two electric motors: the front one produces 116 hp and 255 Nm (for the previous hybrid crossover, these figures are 82 hp and 195 Nm), and the rear 136 hp and 195 Nm (for its predecessor 82 hp hp and 137 Nm). The power reserve in full electric mode is from 83 to 87 km according to the WLTC cycle, depending on the equipment of the modification.

The first of the new elements could take place closer to next summer.
