RAM 1500 2019 – high-tech American pickup

If the Ford F-series pickups sold more than 897,000 units last year, and the Silverado/Sierra platform nearly 803,000, all Ram 1500 versions and modifications sold over 500,000 units in North America.
The developers carefully approached the creation of a pickup truck and concluded a new phenomenally stylish and original body exterior design with excellent aerodynamics, a comfortable interior with a unique class for a multimedia complex, flaunted a 12-inch screen, ventilated front and rear seats, adaptive cruise control, active noise reduction system. As well as active vibration dampers, framed, so necessary for cars with a gasoline V8, equipped with a cylinder deactivation system. And finally… the eTorque mild hybrid system is part of the starter-generator, providing an addition of 122-176 Nm of torque and a traction battery with a power of 0.3 kW. It is clear that the “mild hybrid” does not have the ability to provide any possible assistance to powerful motors, but it can help in the acceleration of a heavy truck and act as a start/stop.
We will not bore readers with a long story and a description of new parts of the body. The photos and videos posted in the review are the best proof that the 5th generation of the Ram pickup truck looks amazing. Well, such a magnificent foreground there is no other model. Interestingly, according to the creators, the body of the new pickup has the best aerodynamics in the class, the components are 0.357 CX. Equipped with a new RAM spoiler, retractable under the front bumper at speeds over 48 km / h, and active blinds behind the grille.
It is better to focus on the frame, bodywork, loading platform and vehicle chassis. It is worth noting that if the design of Ford F-150 pickups (whole body and loading platform) and Chevrolet Silverado (attached to the body panel and suspension parts) aluminum is widely used to reduce the curb weight of cars by 200-300 kg compared to brothers completely made of steel, the new Ram 1500 aluminum parts at least. The maximum load capacity of the new model is 1043 kg (predecessor 853 kg), and the mass of the towed trailer can be up to 5800 kg (was no more than 4800 kg).
The new Ram 1500 comes to market with three cabins – one Cab (single row), a four-seat cabin (double with a hard rear desk) and a cab (full 5-seat). A simple version of the novelty with a quad cab and quad cab will not count, and go straight to the normal crew cab pickup. This type of cab with two full rows of seats will provide passenger comfort and plenty of space, especially considering the height of 102mm in length and 13mm in width compared to the cab of the previous generation of trucks. The large dimensions of the cabin made it possible not only to increase the distance between the front and rear seats, but also the possibility of increasing doorways and rear doors, which is especially important for a comfortable fit. 102 mm, by the way, the wheelbase and overall body length have increased.
Particular attention is paid to Ram 1500 Rebel, specially prepared for serious off-road assault. This version of the pickup is not only very different from the fellow Spartan appearance with a lot of plastic parts that protect the body from damage, but also a leptomonas suspension with Bilstein shock absorbers, increased ground clearance to 254 mm and off-road tires.
Interior design The design of the new generation Ram 1500 pickup makes a very good impression. The interior designers claim that the interior consists of 99% new parts… disingenuous, but the interior really looks amazing. Featuring the original front fascia and center console, a sleek instrument panel and steering wheel, and the Uconnect 12-inch infotainment system, it's truly breathtaking. It is available, but only in the top version for an additional fee, but other multimedica 5 and 8.4-inch screens do not spoil the interior.
The list of additional equipment is quite extensive: LED headlights, front and rear seat ventilation, Surround Vision System, leather seat trim, 900-watt Harman Kardon premium audio system, Adaptive cruise control with stop and go functions, blind spot monitoring system with rear cross-country detection and trailer path, parking assistance, a panoramic sunroof, 15 alloy wheel options up to 22-inch in diameter and a huge selection of exterior enamel colors.

Pickup Ram 1500 5 is based on a powerful frame, steel spring suspension – front double wishbones, rear axle. Optional air suspension in company with SDD dampers. The brakes on all wheels are front disc brakes with 378mm discs and rear diameter 376mm brake pads increased by 18% compared to competitor pickup pads. The default handbrake on all versions is electric. Standard rear-wheel drive and optional all-wheel drive (automatic connection, if downshift is available).
Under the hood of the new Ram 1500, two naturally aspirated gasoline engines will be installed from the start of sales: a 3.6-liter Pentastar 3.6 liter. V6 (305 hp and 365 Nm) and a 5.7-liter V8 HEMI engine (395 hp 556 Nm) in company with 8 automatic transmissions and of course the latest eTorque systems (starter-alternator and battery, power 0.43 kW, outputting a voltage of 48 VL), which allows you to add engines of 122 Nm and 176 Nm of torque.
