Aston Martin Vantage is a real gem in the model line of the British company Aston Martin. Beginning in 1951 and for over 20 years, the Vantage name has been awarded to the most powerful and fastest modification of Aston Martin. Starting in 1972, Predominantly became an independent model, which received a stylish appearance with a voluminous stern and a petrol 4.0-liter "six". For 2 years, only 71 copies of the sport were produced for the first time, it is considered today one of the most desirable acquisitions for car collectors.
In subsequent years, Aston Martin released V8 Advantage (1977-1989), V8 Advantage Flying (1986-1989), V8 Advantage Zagato (1988-1990), V8 Advantage (Bend) (1992-1999), DB7 Vantage and V12 volume (in 1999-2003) and the most successful advantage of V8, which debuted in 2005 and became a real bestseller of the brand, sold over 25,000 copies worldwide. Introduced in 2009, the Vantage’s V12 is less marketable than the eight-cylinder models.
The new Aston Martin Vantage, with an eye on its predecessor of the 2005 model, must be at least as good in order to repeat the success. The new Vantage was created practically from scratch and endowed with everything necessary for a successful entry into the market and successful competition with representatives of the German automotive industry in the face of the Mercedes-AMG GT S and Porsche 911 Turbo.
Interestingly, you just want to take a look at the body of the British novelty in order to fall in love with the two-door Aston Martin forever. Competitors simply pale next to the new Vantage. The car is at the same time so attractive and seductive, bright and stylish, charismatic and dynamic that, at the time, dedicate laudatory odes to the designers who created such beauty.
Front of the body with a huge radiator mouth grille, large body-mounted bumper with bright aerodynamic elements made of carbon fiber, sleek LED headlights and a massive hood with a powerful, embossed.
From the body side, the British sports car looks like a befitting sports car with a powerful engine and two-door coupes: a long bonnet, a heavily sloped windshield frame, a perfect roof dome, curvaceous rear fenders flowing aft, miniature side windows, doors and the side panels of the body are adorned with a powerful punch, huge wheel arch cutouts, to the eyeballs filled with 20-inch wheels.
The rear is a true work of art in automotive design. An original camera cover with a characteristic spoiler embossing, a phenomenally stylish LED gap chandelier lighting that smoothly follows the curves of the tailgate, a powerful and monumental bumper endowed with a diffuser and aerodynamic parts, of course, made of lightweight carbon fiber.
- The external dimensions of the body of the Aston Martin Vantage in 2018-2019 are 4465 mm long, 1942 mm wide and 1273 mm high, with a 2704 mm wheelbase.
- For the standard coupe, 20-inch wheels are available, optional 20-inch forged wheels. In both cases Pirelli P Zero 255/40 R20 on the front axle and 295/35 R20 on the rear.
The British novelty boasts a perfect 50:50 weight distribution, an impressive wheelbase with compact overhangs, an aluminum chassis (Aston Martin DB11 short platform), reverse gear and carbon fiber driveshaft double wishbones in front and five-arm rear suspension, and steel body panels. It’s a shame, but if you only have rear-wheel drive the new Aston Martin Vantage was very well fed with a dry body weight of as much as 1530 kg.
Add leaks and the 73-liter gasoline body weight exceeds 1600 kg. A Porsche 911 Turbo with all-wheel drive and all fluids, including a full tank of petrol, tighten on the scales of 1595 kg, and horses with a German under the hood, more – 540. The lack of all-wheel drive in the new Vantage is compensated by British engineers by the presence of an electronically controlled rear differential lock.
The interior is a double innovation, and the trunk is able to take 350 liters of cargo volume. Finishing materials of the highest quality (leather, carbon, aluminum), equipment, of course, is also very generous. In the presence of a multifunctional digital instrument panel, a multifunctional sports steering wheel, a multimedia system with an 8-inch color screen, dual-zone climate control, sports seats for the driver and front passenger, electrically adjustable, heated and cooled, front and rear parking sensors, rear view camera (Surround View System for an extra charge), full LED headlights and taillights, parking assistant, tire pressure sensors.
The brightest impression in the cabin is made by the original architecture of the front panel and center console. In the upper central part of the dashboard, the multimedia system screen is installed like in a pocket, under stylish ventilation deflectors, even lower is the climate control unit, the control unit and buttons that provide activation of auxiliary functions in the company with push-button control of the automatic transmission and engine start / stop system. On the horizontal surface of the central tunnel there is a massive joystick for controlling the multimedia complex, as well as a scattering of buttons responsible for many other equipment.
Specifications Aston Martin Vantage in 2018-2019. Based on a new aluminum platform from a pair of Aston Martin DB11s, but trimmed a bit. Independent all-wheel suspension (double wishbone front, five link rear), disc brakes with cast iron brake discs (400mm front discs and 6 calipers, 360mm rear discs with 4 calipers) exclusively rear-wheel drive, electronically controlled shock absorbers with selectable stiffness (Sport, Sport Plus, track).
In the engine compartment is a turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 Mercedes-AMG engine (510 hp 685 Nm), gearbox 8 automatic transmission (classic automatic from ZF). The British sports car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 314 km/h.
It only remains to add that the Mercedes-AMG turbo "eight" before installing it on the Aston Martin Vantage was slightly modernized by English minders (a new engine management program, as well as other intake and exhaust characteristics). The "voice" of the engine can be changed depending on the selected driving mode.
