The hybrid sedan Nissan Sentra distinguished itself not only by filling: the models tweaked the look and interior

“Four-door” with the installation of e-Power will enter the market before the end of this year. It is possible that some of the new things inherited by the hybrid will later migrate to the “traditional” model.

The Nissan sedan, which replaced the generation two years ago, which is called Sylphy in China, and in other countries is called Sentra, has found a version with an e-Power hybrid system. So far, such a performance has been presented only in China, the premiere took place at the auto show that opened today in Tianjin. By the way, Sylphy became the first model of the brand with the installation of e-Power in this country, and in other markets similar options are available for the Kicks SUV, Serena minivan, the latest Qashqai and the Note hatch.

Recall that the peculiarity of the system is that the gasoline engine is not connected to the wheels, it only works as a generator of electricity, while the front wheels are rotated by an electric motor installed in place of the gearbox. The Nissan Sylphy e-Power installation included an aspirated 1.2 with a capacity of 72 hp. and a 136-horsepower electric motor. Nissan's release claims fuel consumption of 3.9 l / 100 km in the city (but with a caveat – it depends on traffic conditions), Chinese specialized media indicate another indicator – 4.1 l / 100 km (apparently, average).

The hybrid “four-door” also distinguished itself in design. So, the radiator grille has a pattern, like that of the Nissan Note, in addition, it is framed not only by wide chrome dies, but also by thin stripes. The rear lights were also made differently. The Chinese write that compared to the “traditional” local sedan, the length of the Sylphy e-Power has grown by 8 mm to 4649 mm. The wheelbase is the same – 2712 mm.

The interior of the hybrid also has new things: the front panel has been modernized, in addition, instead of round central air vents, rectangular ones have been installed, a new transmission joystick and a multimedia system with a larger touchscreen have also appeared. But for some reason, the now fashionable virtual “tidy” Sylphy did not get.

The e-Power model will be launched at the local Dongfeng Nissan JV plant, which also produces conventional four-doors. The novelty will go on sale before the end of the year, prices have not yet been announced. The standard Nissan Sylphy of the latest generation (the previous model is still in service in China) with a 1.6 aspirated engine (135 hp) and a CVT today costs from 119,000 yuan, which is equivalent to about 1,339,000 conventional units at the current exchange rate. By the way, it is possible that the interior of the “traditional” sedan will also be tweaked later and new lights will be ordered, although the grille with a pattern, like the Note, may remain the prerogative of the hybrid.

Until recently, Sentra of the current generation has not reached and will not get, because Nissan is not going to resume sales of ordinary cars in our country, focusing on the SUV segment. The next state premiere will be the new Pathfinder – the crossover should be brought this year.
